Mrs. Van wyhe's class
Greetings! My name is Heather Van Wyhe. As a child, I grew up on a farm just north of Rock Valley. I began teaching at Rock Valley in 2008. I was very excited to return to my home town and teach in the Rock Valley school district.
My husband, Shawn and I have our home established in Rock Rapids, Iowa. We have three young boys: Jac, Jayme, and Gavin. They are super active young men who fill my heart with joy daily. Shawn also works in Rock Valley as a manufacturing engineer at Siouxland Fabricating. We really need to just move to Rock Valley as much of our lives are spent here in Rock Valley. :)
As our children get older, we spend most of our free time sitting on bleacher watching our young men wrestle, play basketball, play football, play soccer, or play baseball. In the summer when we are not sitting in the bleachers cheering on our boys, you can find us basking on the boat at Lake Okoboji. We really enjoy spending time at Lake Okoboji and soaking up all the rays of sunshine and the other joys God's creation provides for us.
Besides spending time with my own little family, my second love is spending time with my students at school. My prayer is that each and every one of them grow up knowing that their teachers at Rock Valley absolutely love them, want them to succeed, and appreciate what each one brings to the table. As much as I want to be a blessing to each one of them, they need to know how much they are a blessing to me.
